A 37-year-old woman was hospitalized following a single-vehicle accident on State Route 31 on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Katrina M. Pierson lost control of her vehicle around 2 p.m., causing it to collide with a telephone pole. Pierson sustained injuries to her neck and the left side of her body and was transported to Newark-Wayne Hospital for evaluation.
The accident remains under investigation. Deputies did not indicate whether weather conditions or other factors contributed to the crash.
