A 32-year-old Moravia man was arrested on December 30 after a deputy observed his vehicle crossing into oncoming traffic and leaving the roadway. According to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office, Andrew S. Clay was stopped on Aurora Street in the Village of Moravia.
During the traffic stop, deputies determined that Clay was impaired by drugs. He was arrested and brought to the Public Safety Building, where a Drug Recognition Expert evaluated him. Clay was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Impaired by Drugs (first offense) under New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law and issued multiple traffic citations.
Clay was processed and released with a court date scheduled for January 6 in the Village of Moravia Court. The Sheriff’s Office is encouraging anyone with additional information about the incident to contact them directly or submit tips via their SaferWatch app.
