A Moravia man has been charged with petit larceny after an investigation into food stolen from a local farm stand, the Cayuga County Sheriff's Office said.
Arthur Kenyon, 67, was arrested Sept. 15 on the misdemeanor charge. Deputies said the food was taken Aug. 8, and the victim reported the theft Sept. 9.
The sheriff's office did not identify the farm stand or specify what food was taken. It also did not provide a value for the missing items.
Investigators identified Kenyon as a suspect after receiving the report, according to the release. The department did not describe what evidence led to the charge.
Kenyon was already being held at the Cayuga County Jail on unrelated charges when deputies made the arrest. The release did not describe those other charges.
He was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court. Deputies said he is due to appear in Moravia Town Court at a later date, but did not provide a date.
