Bloomfield man held on bail after violating order of protection

A Bloomfield man was arrested Friday evening for violating a court-issued order of protection.

Miles Joseph Martin, 36, turned himself in at the Ontario County Jail, where deputies arrested him at approximately 5:05 p.m. Martin faces charges of criminal contempt in the second degree following an investigation into his alleged repeated attempts to contact an individual protected under a stay-away order of protection.

The order, issued on Dec. 24, 2024, by the Honorable Judge Weibert in the Town of Hopewell, prohibited Martin from contacting the protected party. Authorities say he violated the order on multiple occasions prior to his arrest.

Martin was arraigned at Ontario County’s Centralized Arraignment Processing and held on bail.
