A Geneva man was arrested Saturday night on multiple felony charges after a traffic stop revealed he was driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content (BAC) exceeding 0.18%.
Luis Z. Cruz-Cruz, 39, was stopped by police on N. Genesee Street on January 5 for failing to obey a traffic control device. During the stop, Officer Brett Hal determined Cruz-Cruz was operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Further investigation revealed he had a prior DWI conviction within the last ten years, was driving with a suspended non-driver’s license, and operating a vehicle without a required ignition interlock device.
Cruz-Cruz was charged with felony DWI, aggravated DWI, aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree (AUO 1st), operating out of interlock restrictions, unlicensed operation, and failure to obey a traffic control device.
He was held for arraignment following the arrest.
