A Geneva man was arrested earlier this week after police found he had an active bench warrant and was in possession of a controlled substance.
Jerry L. Lazu-Soto, 29, was taken into custody on January 4 on Seneca Street. Officers confirmed that a bench warrant had been issued by Geneva City Criminal Court after Lazu-Soto failed to appear for charges of driving while ability impaired by drugs and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
During the arrest, police discovered a controlled substance in Lazu-Soto’s possession, leading to an additional charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree.
Lazu-Soto was held for arraignment following the arrest.
