Family Nurse Practitioner Katie Schaeffer McCool has joined the Internal Medicine Department at the Farmington office of UR Medicine Thompson Health’s Canandaigua Medical Group.
A Shortsville resident, McCool brings extensive experience to her new role. She first joined Thompson Health in 2008 as a pharmacy technician and has since worked as a registered nurse in the ICU, an eRecord-credentialed trainer, and most recently, an urgent care provider.
McCool, certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from St. John Fisher University’s Wegmans School of Nursing and her master’s degree as a nurse practitioner from SUNY Upstate Medical University. Her advanced training also includes a certificate in education.
Based at the Farmington office at 1160 Corporate Drive, McCool will focus on providing personalized care to patients in the region.
