A two-vehicle crash in Phelps on Tuesday morning sent a 79-year-old man to the hospital with minor injuries.

Ontario County Deputies reported that William Korbel, of Waterloo, was driving a 2019 Chrysler van northbound on County Road 6 when he failed to stop and rear-ended a tractor-trailer operated by Russell Whitelaw, 46, of Romulus.

Korbel complained of chest and back pain and was transported to Geneva General Hospital for evaluation. Deputies cited him for following too closely.

The Oaks Corners Fire Department assisted at the scene with traffic control.
