Margaret Reston has been sworn in as Canandaigua’s interim city court judge, replacing retiring Judge Jacqueline Sisson. Appointed by Mayor Bob Palumbo, Reston will serve a one-year term until the November election. Sisson, the city’s first elected female judge, held the position since 2018.
A 23-year Canandaigua resident and experienced attorney, Reston specialized in family law and served on several boards, including the Child and Adolescent Assertive Community Treatment Program. Her legal expertise includes work with children and judicial efficiency initiatives.
