Galen woman arrested for harassment and endangering welfare of a child

A Galen woman was arrested Tuesday after allegedly assaulting her roommate during a domestic dispute, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested Kathryn J. Betts, 65, following an investigation into an incident that occurred at 9118 Old Route 31. Authorities say Betts punched and attempted to bite her roommate while a juvenile was present.

Betts was charged with second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child. She was taken to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing and later held at the Wayne County Jail.

Betts was scheduled to appear at Wayne County Centralized Arraignment Processing (CAP) Court at 5 p.m. to answer the charges. No further details regarding the condition of the victim or the circumstances of the dispute were immediately available.
