Mike Tyson is facing a $1.5 million lawsuit from Cyprus-based Medier, which accuses him of breaching a promotional contract to pursue a fight with Jake Paul, according to a filing in London’s High Court.
Medier, a promoter for betting company Rabona, alleges Tyson unlawfully terminated their January agreement in March. They claim Tyson ended the deal to sign a Netflix-backed fight with influencer Jake Paul. Medier seeks reimbursement for $800,000 in fees and $729,000 in promotional costs.
Tyson, who earned $20 million from his recent fight against Paul, argues Medier violated the contract by not getting his approval for promotional content. Paul won the eight-round match by unanimous decision, streamed live on Netflix.
