The Syracuse football team (9-3, 5-3 ACC) erased a 21-point deficit to upset No. 8 Miami (10-2, 6-2), 42-38, on Saturday night at the JMA Wireless Dome, giving the Orange their first win against a top-10 team since 2017 (Clemson).
Syracuse showcased its explosive offense once again, racking up 479 total yards. Kyle McCord led the charge with 280 passing yards, completing 26-of-36 attempts to seven different receivers. Jackson Meeks had a standout performance, hauling in two touchdown passes for the first time in his career while totaling 110 receiving yards. Trebor Pena added a touchdown reception, and LeQuint Allen Jr. contributed 82 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
Miami put up an impressive 503 yards of offense, with Cam Ward throwing for 349 yards and two touchdowns. The Hurricanes also added 154 rushing yards to their total.
