A Port Byron woman has been arrested in connection with a theft at the Ace Hardware store in Weedsport, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred on November 11, when Sasha E. Binns, 47, allegedly placed a power tool in her purse and exited the store without paying. Following an investigation, deputies secured an arrest warrant for Binns on a charge of petit larceny, a misdemeanor.
On November 21, deputies located Binns at her residence on Church Street and took her into custody. She was processed at the Public Safety Building and released on her own recognizance after arraignment at CAP Court. Binns is scheduled to appear in Weedsport Village Court at a later date.
