The Syracuse football team held on for a 33-25 victory over California on Saturday, marking its third road win of the season, the most since 2018.
The Orange (7-3, 4-3 ACC) capitalized early, scoring on their first six drives and forcing two early interceptions from the Golden Bears (5-5, 1-5 ACC). Despite a late California rally, Syracuse maintained control throughout.
LeQuint Allen Jr. led the charge with 109 rushing yards and two touchdowns, adding 13 receiving yards.
Kyle McCord threw for 323 yards, marking his eighth 300-yard game of the season and setting a new single-season completions record for Syracuse.
Oronde Gadsden II posted his second consecutive 100-yard receiving performance with eight catches for 109 yards, while Trebor Pena added a career-high 11 receptions for 97 yards. Jackson Meeks contributed a touchdown catch, his fifth of the season.
The defense played a pivotal role, recording two interceptions, eight tackles for loss, and four sacks. Marlowe Wax intercepted California’s first pass and added a sack, while Davien Kerr grabbed his first career interception.
