The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office provided an update on the structure fire Friday at the Wayne Central Middle School.
In a news release early-Saturday, first responders say they were called to the school around 9:30 a.m.
Arriving Deputies and fire department personnel observed smoke in the hallway and active flame inside a classroom on the second floor of the building, according to a press release. The fire was contained to a single classroom and put out by Ontario firefighters.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation and no injuries were reported. The Ontario Fire Department and Lincoln Fire Department were at the scene, as well as Ontario EMS.
