Independent political action committees (PACs) have funneled funds from across the country, with spending focused heavily on negative ads against both candidates.
Left-leaning PACs have dedicated $3 million to support Mannion, while conservative PACs have allocated $536,406 for Williams, according to Open Secrets. However, the largest sums—$3.9 million and $4.2 million—target Mannion and Williams respectively, in attack ads.
While federal law prohibits PACs from coordinating with campaigns, donor data reveals an influx of out-of-state contributions, particularly for Williams, whose top donor zip code is Dallas, Texas. For Mannion, most of his support comes from New York State, though primarily from outside the district, with many donations originating in Onondaga County.
