A 72-year-old man was hospitalized after a motorcycle crash in the Town of Arcadia on Saturday afternoon, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Paul Gotwall, who resides on Arcadia Zurich Norris Road, was traveling north on the same road when the accident occurred. Authorities say Gotwall was found in a ditch, trapped under his motorcycle, by a passerby who then alerted emergency services.
Deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene around 3:25 p.m., with assistance from the Fairville Fire Department. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, officials said.
Gotwall was transported to Newark-Wayne Community Hospital by Newark Ambulance. His injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening, though he was taken in for further evaluation.
Deputies B. Morse, B. Casterlin, and H. Ruffell were among the officers who responded to the crash site. As of now, there is no word on what may have led to the crash, and authorities have not provided additional details.
