Residents invited to shape M downtown revitalization projects in Cayuga County

The future of Cayuga, Union Springs, and Aurora is in residents’ hands as they decide how to spend a $10 million revitalization grant. An online survey is open for community members to review and comment on 29 proposed projects for the villages’ Strategic Investment Plan (SIP).

Proposals include developing Aurora Community Park and Boathouse at 170 Main Street, new apartments at 6200 Center Street in Cayuga, and a pedestrian bridge on Foundry Street in Union Springs. The Local Planning Committee will select projects for the SIP to be sent to the state in December.

The villages received the joint grant in February under the state’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative. Funding recipients will be announced by spring 2025. Residents can share their input by completing the survey at surveymonkey.com/r/CUSADRIProjectFeedback.
