A two-vehicle crash on Saturday morning in the Town of Bristol led to a dump truck overturning and both drivers receiving citations. The incident occurred around 10:17 a.m. at 4741 State Route 64 South, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash involved Mary J. Tandle, 73, of Geneva, and Richard T. Williams, 41, of Farmington. Ms. Tandle was driving a Subaru Crosstrek southbound on State Route 64 when she attempted to make a left turn into a driveway without signaling. Mr. Williams, driving a dump truck loaded with approximately one ton of stone, was also traveling southbound behind her. As Ms. Tandle slowed for the turn, Mr. Williams attempted to pass her in a no-passing zone.
The vehicles collided in the northbound lane, causing the dump truck to overturn, landing on its driver’s side in the front yard of a residence. Traffic on State Route 64 was restricted to one lane for about an hour while crews from Bald Hill and Dave’s Towing removed the vehicles.
Both drivers were issued citations and are expected to appear in Bristol Town Court. No injuries were reported.
