The Genoa Volunteer Fire Department had the honor of displaying their new Engine 1 at the 57th annual Old Forge Fire School, held September 12-15.
The event, hosted by the Old Forge Fire Department and the Firefighters Association of the State of New York, drew departments from across the state. Seven members from Genoa, including active firefighters and commissioners, participated in various hands-on and lecture-based training sessions.
Courses included Crisis Management, Propane Live Burn, and Fire Ground Operations, among others. The department expressed excitement about learning from experienced instructors and connecting with fellow firefighters, saying they’re already looking forward to next year’s event.
