Hopewell man arrested on felony charge for violating court order

A Hopewell man was arrested Monday evening after deputies responded to a reported physical altercation at a residence on County Road 47.

Michael S. Bement, 40, was taken into custody around 6:30 p.m. following an investigation that revealed he had violated an order of protection.

Bement was charged with Criminal Contempt in the First Degree and transported to the Ontario County Jail. He is being held pending his appearance at Centralized Arraignment Court (CAP).
