Bath man arrested after fleeing police in reckless motorcycle chase

A 22-year-old Bath man was arrested on Sunday after leading police on a dangerous motorcycle chase through the Village of Bath and into the Town of Cameron.

Isaiah L. Conklin-Griffin was charged with Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer, a Class A misdemeanor, after he failed to comply with a traffic stop on Cameron Street. The pursuit was initially called off due to his reckless driving, but Conklin-Griffin later returned to the village, where officers attempted to stop him again.

The chase ended on East Washington Street after Steuben County 911 received reports of the motorcycle at a nearby residence. Conklin-Griffin was taken into custody without incident, and the motorcycle was impounded. In addition to the fleeing charge, he received 18 traffic tickets for various violations.

The Bath Village Police Department was assisted by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police during the incident.
