Trump proposes deporting pro-Hamas protestors as legal debate intensifies

Donald Trump has called for the deportation of foreign nationals in the U.S. who openly support Hamas, sparking a heated debate over free speech and immigration law. While most recent pro-Palestinian protesters are U.S. citizens, Trump and GOP leaders argue that foreign students endorsing terrorist groups should face expulsion.

However, civil rights groups warn that deporting visa holders for protest activities could trigger nationwide legal battles. The Biden administration, focused on violent crimes, has not revoked any student visas for protest-related offenses, emphasizing that peaceful demonstrations are protected under U.S. law.

As the issue gains momentum, it’s expected to resurface during the upcoming Democratic National Convention, where protests are anticipated.
