The New York Mets added pitching depth before Tuesday’s Trade Deadline, acquiring right-handed starter Paul Blackburn from the Oakland Athletics, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
Righty Kade Morris, who the Mets selected last season in the third round of the MLB Draft, is going to Oakland in the deal.
Blackburn, 30, missed much of this season due to a stress reaction in his right foot but has a 4.41 ERA in nine starts.
New York was looking for depth after the recent injuries to Kodai Senga (left calf strain) and Christian Scott (right UCL sprain).
