A worker died Monday morning after suffering a traumatic injury at an active construction site on Cayuga Park Lane, according to the Ithaca Police Department.
Emergency crews were dispatched at about 11:09 a.m. after the incident was reported. The subject received immediate medical care from personnel at the nearby Cayuga Health Center and Bangs Ambulance before being transported to Cayuga Medical Center, where they later died from the injury.
Police described the death as accidental based on preliminary information. The department said the investigation remains ongoing in coordination with the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA).
