Seneca Foods donates $10M to Cornell Food Venture Center

The Seneca Foods Foundation has donated $10 million to the Cornell Food Venture Center (CFVC) at AgriTech, marking the largest gift in AgriTech’s history. The donation will enhance the CFVC’s mission of helping food producers bring products to market through innovative processing technologies and safety evaluations.

This contribution, recognizing a 75-year relationship between Seneca Foods and Cornell University, will endow the CFVC’s pilot plant and a professorship.

Christine Smart, Director of Cornell AgriTech, emphasized the gift’s impact: “It solidifies our long-term partnership and supports our ability to provide crucial testing and guidance, helping companies innovate and maintain food safety.”
