Cayuga County introduces SaferWatch app for community safety

The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office recently announced the launch of the SaferWatch app to enhance community safety. Sheriff Brian Schenck and IT Director Tom Bunn support this initiative to improve communication between the county, the Sheriff’s Office, and residents.

The SaferWatch app will provide real-time alerts about emergencies, road closures, and important events, especially with the County office building closed. Residents can also use the app to report suspicious activities directly to law enforcement, helping maintain a secure environment.

Chairwoman Aileen McNabb-Coleman encourages residents to download the SaferWatch app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The app aims to keep the community informed and engaged in public safety efforts.
