Sarah Cupelli selected as next Waterloo superintendent

The Waterloo Central School District Board of Education has chosen Sarah Cupelli as the next Superintendent of Schools. Cupelli will be officially appointed at a special board meeting on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 7:00 PM. The community is invited to meet her from 6:00 to 7:00 PM on the same day for a meet and greet and presentation.

Cupelli brings over 20 years of educational experience, most recently serving as the deputy superintendent for the Auburn Enlarged City School District. She has also worked in the Syracuse City School District and Geneva City School District in various roles, including principal, assistant principal, and elementary school teacher. Cupelli is excited to return to the Finger Lakes, where she grew up, and looks forward to making a positive impact in Waterloo.

“We are thrilled to welcome Sarah Cupelli to our community,” said Board President Christopher Felice. “Her vision and passion align perfectly with our district’s needs. We believe her experience and dedication will help our district continue to grow and thrive.” Cupelli will start her new role on August 16, 2024.
