On a beautiful fall day at Victor Hills Country Club, the Finger Lakes High School Athletic Association crowned a new 2022 league tournament champion and qualified nine individuals for the 2023 Section V Individual Golf Sectionals next spring.
The field consisted of the top 46 golfers from the 13 team Finger Lakes East and West Leagues. These players battled tough conditions with falling leaves and the quick greens at Victor Hills South. The course and weather provide ideal conditions to crown a champion.

The top grouping paired last year’s champion Gabe Ward of Bloomfield with runner-up John Siblosky of Waterloo, along with Luke Spinner (Mynderse) and Aiden LeStrange (Wayne). This year Siblosky held off Ward shooting a 3 over 75. Ward finished in second place with an 8 over 80.
Siblolsky (East) and Ward (West) came into the match earning Player of the Year honors in each of their divisions. This is the second consecutive year the two have taken home this honor in the respective divisions.
Sophomore Aiden LeStrange (Wayne) shot an 84 to take home third place. The top 5 was rounded out by freshman Joe Walsh (Bloomfield) with an 86 and senior Nico Franzone (Mynderse) with an 88. Siblosky will lead a group of nine Finger Lakes golfers into the 2022 Section Five Individual Sectional Golf Tournament in the spring.
