The long-awaited dog park at Harlan Fisher Park is finally opening. The Town of Victor will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, June 29, at 10 a.m. to celebrate the new off-leash park. The event will include tours of the small and large dog areas, dog activities, and refreshments.
The dog park, prioritized in the 2019 Victor Parks and Recreation Master Plan, spans seven acres and features pet washing stations, water fountains, and an electronic access system for safety and monitoring. Inspired by other local parks, the design includes natural barriers and over 400 new plants.
While Saturday’s event is free and open to the public, the park will later require a membership fob for access. Dog owners need to register with the Town Clerk’s Office, providing a current dog license, rabies certificate, and a $30 annual fee.
