A personal injury accident occurred at the intersection of State Route 5 and South Avenue on June 26, at 4:00 p.m. Deputies responded to the scene and found two vehicles involved in the crash.
James A. Mitchell, 62, was driving a Kia Sportage north on South Avenue. He stopped at the stop sign but failed to yield to Samantha O. Shepard, 23, who was driving a Honda HRV westbound on State Route 5. The collision resulted in Shepard being taken to FF Thompson Hospital for a possible neck injury.
James Mitchell was issued a ticket for failing to yield the right of way. East Bloomfield Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.
