John Mannion won the Democratic primary for the 22nd Congressional District seat in Central New York, defeating Sarah Klee Hood. Mannion will now face Republican Rep. Brandon Williams in the November election, a race expected to draw national attention.

Mannion celebrated with supporters in Syracuse, emphasizing a campaign built on positivity and integrity. “If you believe in respect and dignity, then you are on the Mannion team,” he said to cheers. Klee Hood, speaking to her supporters, expressed gratitude for their support and pledged to back Mannion in the upcoming election.

Mannion led Klee Hood 62-38% with nearly all votes counted. His strong performance in Onondaga County secured his victory despite Klee Hood’s success in Oneida and Madison counties. The November election between Mannion and Williams is anticipated to be one of the most closely watched House races in the nation.
