“Save Our Sodus” (SOS) is celebrating 25 years of protecting Sodus Bay with a special event, “SOS Bay Day,” on July 27, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Oscar Fuerst Baseball Field in Sodus Point. The event is free and open to the public.
The day will feature nature exhibits, eco-tours, and interactive activities like fish printing, kite-making, and wildlife exhibits with eagles and turtles. Visitors can also learn about the Bay’s ecology and how to protect it.
Last week, a Summer Kick-off Event gathered Bay promoters and the public to discuss water quality and shoreline resilience. Speakers included project managers and local officials. SOS is building a team of volunteers for future projects and planning more activities like kayak tours and marshland hikes. For more information, visit saveoursodus.com.
