  • Staff Report

Layne D’Agata of Sodus was sentenced to 10 years in prison for her role in two robberies in Wayne County last year. Acting District Attorney Christine Callanan announced the sentence, which followed D’Agata’s convictions for robbery and coercion.

D’Agata, along with William Gahr and Carol Shannon of Williamson, was arrested in April 2023. The trio robbed a person at the Speedway in Marion, stealing $200, and later took $100 from a person at the Wash House laundromat in Williamson. Shannon assisted in both crimes.

Callanan emphasized the impact of robbery on victims and thanked the New York State Police for their diligent work on the case. Gahr will be sentenced later this year, while Shannon received probation after pleading guilty and agreeing to testify.
