Auburn will vote on cannabis zoning changes for city this week

Auburn City Council will vote Thursday on new zoning rules for marijuana use and sales. This update aligns the city’s code with recent regulations from the New York State Office of Cannabis Management, according to city officials.

Currently, marijuana shops cannot be within 500 feet of schools, nurseries, daycares, playgrounds, public libraries, or parks, and 200 feet from houses of worship.

The proposed changes will limit these restrictions to buildings used solely as schools or houses of worship.
