Ithaca police make burglary arrest after suspicious van seen by witnesses

Ithaca Police arrested Larry W. Stanton Jr., 34, of McClean, N.Y., on Saturday for burglary after responding to a call at the 100 block of College Avenue. The complainants reported missing valuables and a ransacked apartment. They also saw a suspect near a gray minivan in their driveway.

When officers arrived, they found Stanton near the scene. After a quick investigation, they found stolen items in his possession and arrested him. A search of Stanton’s vehicle, authorized by a court warrant, revealed more stolen property.

Stanton faces several charges: second-degree burglary, third-degree grand larceny, third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, and fourth-degree grand larceny. He was arraigned and sent to Tompkins County Jail without bail. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should contact Ithaca Police. Anonymous tips are welcome.
