The Ithaca City School District (ICSD) is considering a budget that could cut 22 teaching positions. This comes after voters rejected the initial budget proposal on May 21.
According to The Ithaca Voice, the new proposals suggest either a 2.79% tax levy increase or a contingency budget with no tax increase. Both options include staff reductions. The larger budget would reduce 58 positions overall, while the contingency budget would cut 87 positions.
District officials have until June 4 to finalize the budget, which will go to voters on June 18.
