Adrian Houser allowed six runs in five innings, and the New York Mets (21-27) dropped their second straight game to the Cleveland Guardians (32-17) with a 7-6 loss at Progressive Field.
Houser fell to 0-4 on the season and his ERA increased to 7.88.
Mark Vientos crushed a 430-foot home run to open the scoring for the Mets, while Jeff McNeil and Starling Marte each smacked two-run homers. Francisco Lindor chipped in a run-scoring single.
The Mets will try to avoid the three-game sweep on Wednesday at 1:10 p.m. with Jose Quintana on the bump.
