Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan (R,C-Manchester) voiced strong support for new proposals introduced by his Assembly and Senate Republican colleagues to combat antisemitism on New York’s college campuses. The proposals aim to address rising incidents of antisemitism by creating new crimes for deceptive mask-wearing (A.10043/S.9194) and banning state funding for institutions that allow certain pro-terrorist groups (S.9193).
“Combating antisemitism on college and university campuses throughout our state needs to be a top priority,” stated Gallahan. He criticized the Assembly Majority Conference for not addressing the issue and emphasized the urgent need for state intervention to ensure student safety. “It is disturbing to see antisemitism at our institutions of higher learning persist. Everyone should support these common-sense proposals.”
Assemblyman Gallahan represents the 131st Assembly District, which includes parts of Ontario, Seneca, Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Broome, and Chenango counties. For more information, visit his official Assembly website.
