Juvenile arrested in Ithaca for string of crimes; faces a dozen charges

The Ithaca Police Department apprehended a juvenile suspect earlier this month matching the description of an individual involved in several recent crimes. During routine patrol, officers identified the juvenile, who was subsequently linked to numerous burglaries and acts of criminal mischief reported in March and April.

Following a detailed investigation, the juvenile was found responsible for the theft of crucial items from a local business and extensive property damage. The charges laid against them include three counts of second-degree burglary, one count of third-degree burglary, four counts of second-degree criminal mischief, three counts of possession of burglar’s tools, and two counts of petit larceny.

The initial arraignment took place on Thursday, May 9th at the Tompkins County Youth Part Court, where the juvenile faced the most severe charges. Due to the suspect’s age, their identity remains confidential.
