Syracuse men’s lacrosse falls to Duke in ACC semifinals

The No. 3/3 Syracuse men’s lacrosse team fell to No. 6/6 Duke, 18-13, in the semifinal round of the ACC Championship on Friday night at American Legion Stadium.

The Blue Devils (12-4) jumped out to an early 5-0 advantage and kept the lead for good to stand victorious against Syracuse (11-5). 

Joey Spallina and Jake Stevens each scored four goals to lead the offense for the Orange. Owen Hiltz tallied a game-high three assists. Sam English (1g, 2a) and Luke Rhoa (2g) also had multi-point performances for Syracuse.

Syracuse will await its NCAA Tournament matchup on Selection Sunday. The tournament field will be announced on Sunday, May 5 at 9:30 p.m.
