Syracuse men’s lacrosse rallies to defeat Virginia in regular-season finale

The No. 6/7 Syracuse men’s lacrosse team wrapped up its regular season slate on Saturday afternoon, picking up an 18-17 come-from-behind victory over fourth-ranked Virginia at the JMA Wireless Dome.

The Orange finished with an 11-4 record, including 3-1 in ACC play.

Syracuse trailed 17-14 with 9:18 remaining in regulation but scored four consecutive goals over the final 7:30, including Sam English’s game-winner with 48 seconds left, to claim the win.

Christian Mulé, Finn Thompson, and Owen Hiltz each recorded hat tricks. Michael Leo and Jake Stevens netted two goals apiece, while Luke Rhoa, Wyatt Hottle, Billy Dwan, and Matt Wright chipped in goals.

Next up is the ACC Tournament, which will begin next Friday in Charlotte, North Carolina.
