The Conquest Planning Board has announced the completion of a new plaque displaying the town’s Vision Statement, set to be installed within the Municipal Building. The final design, presented by Planning Board member Peggy Lillie on April 14, 2024, is crafted from solid bronze with raised letters, ensuring durability and visibility for all visitors.

This initiative was first approved during the December 2023 Town Board meeting, following months of diligent work by Lillie to gather feedback and explore design options. The effort culminated in the creation of a plaque that encapsulates the community’s aspirations and goals, as outlined in the Town’s Comprehensive Plan developed last summer.

The Vision Statement itself was crafted by a committee of about 15 Conquest residents, reflecting a broad community effort. The Town Board’s recent approval of the plaque is a testament to the community’s commitment to transparency and shared values.
