The Palmyra-Macedon Central School District celebrated the opening of its new multipurpose athletic field with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday night. The event took place between the junior varsity girls’ lacrosse game against Hilton and the varsity match versus Marcus Whitman.

The ceremony featured remarks from Superintendent Dr. Bob Ike and included a statement from New York State Assemblyman Brian Manktelow. School Board President Laura Arrington and Vice President Dave Landon, along with members of the boys’ and girls’ varsity lacrosse teams, participated in cutting the red ribbon.

This new field, suitable for both lacrosse and soccer, is part of the district’s 2021 Facility Improvement Project, which was approved by voters at the end of 2021. Construction for the field began in spring 2023, marking a significant enhancement for school sports facilities.
