A man from Burdett, New York, Steven C. Mayo, 45, has been sentenced to two years in state prison after admitting to selling methamphetamine in Schuyler County. The sentencing took place on March 28 and was overseen by Judge Matthew C. Hayden. Following his prison term, Mayo will also undergo one year of post-release supervision.
The Schuyler County District Attorney’s Office reported that Mayo pleaded guilty to the criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, classified as a Class D felony. His conviction stems from an investigation led by the New York State Police, which targeted methamphetamine distribution within the county.
In addition to his prison sentence, Mayo was ordered to pay $550 in restitution and forfeited $3,855 that was likely associated with his illegal activities.
