The transformation of the former DeSales High School into upscale apartments is set to begin this August, following approval from the Geneva Industrial Development Agency.

The project is led by Massa Construction and aims to convert the 1.7-acre property into 18 luxury rental units, revitalizing the historic building that closed its doors to education 12 years ago, according to the Finger Lakes Times.

The IDA board’s decision allows Massa Construction to benefit from tax exemptions, aiding in the preservation and redevelopment of this landmark site in Geneva.

The planned renovations include the preservation of the building’s historic features while introducing modern amenities such as stainless-steel appliances, glass-partitioned showers, and high-end air-conditioning systems.

Set to complete by May 30, 2025, DeSales Apartments represents a significant investment in Geneva’s housing market, with an estimated cost of $5.48 million.
