Port Byron man flees with vehicle during repossession, leads authorities from Tyre to Montezuma

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Port Byron man after a repo agent was nearly run over in Tyre.

On April 3 around noon deputies arrested Robert J Bush Jr., 40, of Port Byron, for reckless endangerment, criminal mischief and several traffic violations including leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

The arrest stems from a report that as a repo agent was attempting to repossess a vehicle being operated by Bush Jr, he nearly ran over one of the agents and then struck both repossession agent’s vehicles causing damage.

Bush then fled the scene of the accident, traveling from the Petro Truck stop before coming to a stop at Circle K located at State Route 5 and Route 90 in Cayuga County.

He was taken into custody without issue and processed at the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center.
