The Skaneateles Lakers hockey team captured its fifth straight Section III, Division II title on Monday night with an 8-1 victory over Christian Brothers Academy/Jamesville-DeWitt at the Upstate Medical University Arena in Syracuse.

Junior forwards Cole Palmer and Luke Mizro sniped two goals each to lead the explosive offense. Jack Torrey, Kaden Rutledge, Trevor Jensen, and Jack Marquardt chipped in goals.

Jack Dement scored for CBA/J-D with 9:26 left in the contest to spoil what would have been the Lakers’ 12th shutout of the season.

Skaneateles will face Section V’s Webster Thomas in the regional final at Allyn Arena on Saturday. The winner of the game will advance to the Frozen Four.
