Dive into Geneva’s “Freezin’ for a Reason” polar plunge to benefit YMCA

The Geneva Family YMCA is set to chill and thrill the community with its inaugural “Freezin for a Reason” Polar Plunge event on March 9, 2024. This chilly fundraiser, taking place at 41 Lakefront in Geneva from 3 to 7 pm, aims to support the YMCA’s vital programs and services. Participants can look forward to a festive atmosphere with music, food and drink, a hot cocoa bar, kid-friendly activities, and cozy fire pits with s’mores, all culminating in the icy plunge into Seneca Lake.

For those feeling particularly adventurous, registration for the plunge is open at $35 per participant. The YMCA is also on the lookout for 15 VIP Plungers willing to raise $1,000 each for the cause, with special perks and a swag bag of plunge essentials up for grabs. Interested VIPs can contact the YMCA directly for more details and their pre-plunge packet.

Businesses and individuals interested in sponsoring the event can reach out to the YMCA for various sponsorship opportunities, promising VIP treatment at the event. Since 1870, the Geneva YMCA has been a cornerstone of the community, offering a wide range of programs for youth, adults, families, and seniors. The “Freezin for a Reason” Polar Plunge is not just a test of bravery against the cold but also a celebration of community spirit and support for the Geneva Y’s continuing mission.
