The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal accident that happened around 9 a.m. in the town of Arcadia on Friday.
In an update late-Friday, deputies said a small SUV traveling west on Route 31 lost control on a snow covered road and collided head-on with a New York State Dump Truck, which was towing a trailer.
The 26-year-old driver of the vehicle, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at Newark-Wayne Hospital. A passenger in the car was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Newark Fire Department and Newark Ambulance.
